May 1: Crawford Hotel: Johnsons and Zimmerman arrive in Denver

May 2,3: Crawford Hotel: Johnsons and Zimmerman visit friends

May 3 (Sun): Crawford Hotel

Evans arrives (uses the RTD A Line train to the Crawford Hotel)

Evans Notes:
-   9:40 AM: Arrives at 9:40, 
- 10:30 AM: RTD Train to the Crawford and -arrive a little before noon. 
- 11:30 AM: Arrive Crawford
- 12:30 PM: Lunch in the Snooze Restaurant. He'll explore the train station - 2:00 or 3:00 PM: Visit room and/or explore train station until ready. 
- 3:00 PM: Walk/explore the Commons Park, McGregory Square (here is a map)
- Dinner: Hopefully, Johnsons and Zimmerman will be back at the Crawford 

May 4 (Mon):  Crawford Hotel

9:30: Viator Tour from Denver to Pikes Peak

$199 per person and starts from Union Station

Discover some of Colorado’s wildest Rocky Mountain Scenery on this full-day, small-group tour from Denver. In the morning, meet near Union Station, hop aboard your vehicle, and head first to the Garden of the Gods—a nature park known for its staggering sandstone rock formations. Next, drive all the way to the summit of Pikes Peak for an extraordinary view of the landscape. Finally, pass through Manitou Springs on the way back to Denver.

6:00: Return to Crawford 

May 5 (Tue): Glenwood Station Hotel

Travel by train from Denver to Glenwood Springs

9:00: Estimated departure 

Breakfast, lunch, beverages, and snacks on board.

Highlights include crossing the Continental Divide, the historic Moffat Tunnel, and the impressive Glenwood, Gore, and Byers Canyons.

5:00 PM - 6:30 PM - Estimated arrival Glenwood Springs(rail travel can be subject to unforeseen delays)

Our 3-star accommodation is located either within walking distance or a short drive from the train station. For your convenience, a vehicle transfer will be available. Our luggage will be transported separately and delivered directly to your hotel.

Spend the evening exploring or relaxing in the hotel room.

May 6 (Wed): MOAB Hotel

Travel by train from Glenwood Springs to MOAB.  Luggage transferred from room.

9:00 - Estimated departure

Breakfast, beverages, and snacks on board.

Highlights include crossing the Utah-Colorado border, Debeque Canyon, and Ruby Canyon.

No Lunch - Snacks on board

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Estimated arrival MOAB(rail travel can be subject to unforeseen delays)

Upon arrival in Moab, we are transferred by motorcoach from the train to our 3-star hotel. Our luggage will be transported separately and delivered directly to the hotel.

May 7 (Thu): Grand American Hotel

Travel by train from MOAB/Thompson Springs to Salt Lake City

AM - Breakfast on our own.

11:30 -  Depart by motorcoach to Thompson Springs Station (1 hr & 15 min)

1:00 PM - Board the Canyon Spirit train.

Lunch, beverages, and snacks are included on board.

Highlights include the impressive Castle Gate, the beauty of Price Canyon, the historic Thistle Tunnel, and seeing the Wasatch Mountains as you approach. Provo and head into Salt Lake City.

- 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Arrive Salt Lake City (rail travel can be subject to unforeseen delays)

 Transferred by motorcoach to the Grand American Hotel.

- Dinner: On our own, such as the Laurel in the hotel

May 8 (Fri) - Grand American Hotel

The airport from the Grand American Hotel is 8 minutes by car (38 minutes by bus)

The TABERNACLE is expected to host its daily organ recital, a long-standing tradition featuring Tabernacle and Temple Square organists. These recitals typically run for 30 minutes around noon, and are open to the public with no ticket required.
The Big Cottonwood Canyon is 30 minutes from hotel.
May 9 (Sat) – Grand American Hotel
  • 11:00 AM: Arrive at GGSHP
May 10 (Sun) - Drop of car and head for home
